12.6.7 Lake Narcisse

Located in the Western Ithmia and nearing the Prelatorian Highway, Lake Narcisse was once home to a tribe of amphibian humanoids called the Angai, who shared the lake with race of fish creatures called the Hanai. Both peoples were subject to the cruel experiments of the Mad Mage, Gaderian, which came to a head in the Year 969 AF, when the murkblight spilled from his underwater lab. It quickly spread into the surrounding lands, blighting land and animals alike, until the villagers of Eleusis were able to successfully cleanse the lake by planting a silver tree with golden leaves that now dominates the landscape. This cleansing came at great cost however, resulting in the death of the Hanai and most of the Angai peoples. 

Narcisse is now a pristine paradise inhabited by dryads and is presided over by Siluria, its guardian. The threat of the blight still lurks beneath the surface, however, and in the quiet hours a terrible laughter can be heard coming from some shadowed corner of this what is otherwise a testament to the power of Nature's Domain.
